Two smiling Liverpool fans. One struggling United supporter.
And a golf course with one of the best views in Dublin… ⛳️
We played over the weekend at the spectacular Howth Golf Club, and between shots, the conversation turned to football, as it always does.
⚽️ It’s a huge week for Manchester United.
And a very pertinent question was asked. Is Wednesday’s result more important for the cub from a financial or footballing perspective?
Qualifying for the Champions League brings serious commercial rewards. It also helps ease the Financial Fair Play pressures that have hovered over the club in recent seasons.
And it got me thinking about business…
How often do we chase that one big deal?
The game changer. The headline win.
But when it lands…
Did it really change the business for the better?
✅ Sometimes, yes, doors open, momentum builds.
❌ But other times, all it does is paper over cracks.
Whether in football or business, results can be misleading.
True success comes from strong foundations and smart structures.
Let’s hope United, and all of us, are building for the long term, not just the next result.
