Company loyalty get’s your nowhere! That’s what I was recently told when completing a reference check!
The reference was glowing, and the individual we’ve placed leaves with the best wishes of their manager. But that statement stopped me in my tracks.
In the same week where we shared the Gallup State of the Global Workplace Report, showing that only 10% of Irish employees are engaged at work, it begs the question:
Does loyalty really get you anywhere?
I’d love to disagree, but over the years, I’ve heard many stories where loyalty wasn’t valued.
As we near the end of the year and bonus season , it’s a time when loyalty will likely be tested and questioned again.
What’s your experience? Is loyalty (based on performance), rewarded in your workplace, or does it often go unnoticed?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.
