That’s what a client said to me today during an intake call for a new assignment.
Simple advice. But how often do we actually follow it?
Do we push back, deflect, or avoid responsibility, and risk damaging relationships and future business?
Or do we take ownership, fix it, and build long-term credibility?
It reminded me of a quote I’ve often referred to in coaching, from legendary American football coach Paul “Bear” Bryant:
“When you make a mistake, there are only three things you should ever do about it, admit it, learn from it, and don’t repeat it.”
Which camp are you in today?
And if it’s the wrong one, is it time for you to change?
