Head of Projects

Talent Partners are currently looking to recruit a Head of Projects role for an award-winning client company. As the Head of Projects, you will be responsible for the project management of all building renovations, upgrades and new builds. You will also manage all sub-contractors and internal teams on site and ensure service levels are being delivered in accordance with client SLAs.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Drive increase in revenues by securing additional projects across the entire business.
  • Creating strong internal relationships to drive projects across all contracts.
  • Lead the project team and drive a high level of employee engagement.
  • Engage with key stakeholders and act as the conduit to ensure all project actions are completed in the agreed timeframes.
  • Manage project activities to ensure adherence to site, Health & Safety and schedule requirements.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • To ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.  
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress. Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.  
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.  
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Verify and sign off that installations are completed in line with specifications.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including Building Safety File and Project O+M’s post-completion.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Holds relevant facilities/project management qualifications and has relevant experience in excess of 8 years.
  • A positive leader, who engages and brings people with them.
  • Is self-aware and open to change and feedback to improve relationships.  
  • Track record of project delivery within the Construction/FM industry.
  • Experience in hard services project work.
  • Can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality systems and the management of safe systems of work associated with the role and work environment.
  • Able to represent clients effectively at both internal and external meetings.
  • Able to set a budget and demonstrate appropriate financial management.
  • Able to lead, motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Leads by example in all role activities.
  • Competent with standard MS Office applications.
  • Strong and effective communication skills, analytical thinker with demonstrated problem-solving skills.  
  • An understanding of how to prioritise.
  • A problem solution focused approach.
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus
