Head of Business Development – Financial Data

Talent Partners are looking to recruit an experienced Business Development professional who will sell our client’s data solutions to Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Corporate Data teams.

Role Profile:

As Head of Business Development, There will be two primary functions to this role which consist of:

1. Generating license sales to data buyers.

Here you will be focused on:

  • Business development
  • Full responsibility for business development of our client’s buyer solutions and tools to the following verticals:
  • Asset Management
  • Private Equity
  • Corporate
  • Consultants

You will manage buyers through each stage of their buying decision process.

2. Managing the business development team

  • Develop and monitor metrics to ensure that the business development team take ownership of their targets and KPIs
  • Ensure that each member of the business development team is performing at optimum levels
  • Members within the team have responsibility for : Buyer license renewals, vendor licenses, vendor renewals, dataset sales, tools and sponsorship.
  • Set revenue targets for each team member (with their input)
  • Present metrics on what’s working and not working from the business development team to the entire company
  • Be available for Board presentations on an as-required basis

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Excellent communication skills are required for this role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Commerce, Business or other) or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years sales experience – selling to either the Corporate or Asset Management verticals.
  • Must have knowledge of the asset management / financial services domain.
  • Is passionate about the value that Data brings to business growth and success.
