Building a World Class Culture in the Workplace.

If a company is focused on building a world-class culture—one that thrives on shared experiences and alignment—it’s essential to stay true to those principles, even when the talent market feels tight.

Recently, I came across a candidate I believed was a perfect match for a role we were working on. The client had outlined three non-negotiable “must-haves,” and this candidate ticked every box.

But there was one challenge:

Location!

The role required regular on-site presence as part of a hybrid arrangement. However, with a young family and a minimum daily commute exceeding an hour each way, the candidate and I both recognised it wouldn’t work long-term

This situation highlights a growing challenge in today’s market: the balance between in-person collaboration and accessing top-tier talent. While hybrid roles can enhance flexibility, they can also restrict the talent pool when on-site presence is a requirement.

Have you faced similar challenges with hybrid or on-site roles? How do you strike the balance between attracting top talent and meeting business needs?

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Let’s discuss
